Oil on canvas

2014

W60 x H75cm

A premise pervasive in most spiritual traditions

and widely promoted by Plato, knowing oneself is the path to understanding others too.

This painting depicts the symbol of psychology, the study of the mind.

It originates from the letter psi in the Greek alphabet. It is also the first letter of the Greek word psuche, meaning mind or soul, from which the term psyche derives.

Art is psychological in itself. As a result, art and psychology are often
described as the two sides of the same coin.
Studying the mechanics of the mind and subsequently
engaging in art practice allows for the integration of information
through creativity, altering brain waves to a lower frequency and
healing at unconscious level, with the potential to rewire the brain
into a healthier configuration.
